Virginia Seasons: New Recipes from the Old Dominion
We have run out of stock for this item.
Shop Notes:
This is a fantastic and still relevant cookbook for home cooks. The chapter on wild fowl is fascinating and the seafood section is an excellent reference for dependable classics. The recipe for Mitchie Tavern's Fried chicken is a winner. The desserts section is fabulous, but the highlight is, as in many Virginia cookbooks, Martha Washington's Great Cake. The good news here is that the recipe is cut down to a reasonable volume. Most of the other recipes I've seen will generate enough dessert for the entire Continental Army.
From the Publisher:
Journey through Virginia's richly stocked pantry. Super seasonal menus with regional flair accompany recipes from Virginia's finest inns, resorts and restaurants. Strong emphasis on chicken and seafood.
