About the Author:

Cheryl Day founded Back in the Day Bakery, in Savannah, Georgia, along with her husband, Griff, in 2002. They are the authors of two baking books, Back in the Day Bakery Made with Love and The Back in the Day Bakery Cookbook, which was a New York Times bestseller.

Cheryl is a leader in the protest baking movement and the cofounder of Southern Restaurants for Social Justice. She's also a member of the James Beard Foundation Food and Beverage Investment Fund for BIPOC Leadership Committee. Cheryl is an avid collector of vintage cookbooks; her enthusiasm for enriching lives through the time-honored art of scratch baking is one of her most endearing qualities, along with a few dance moves she picked up in her days as a Soul Train dancer.
