About the Author:

In 1931, the Albany Hospital League was founded by one of Albany's discerning citizen's, Mrs. J.C. Keaton, who noticed the city's growth and its need for volunteer services. For 33 years, the Albany Hospital League was a shining example in the Albany community.

On February 3, 1964, the Hospital League officially became the Junior League of Albany, Georgia, Inc. This acceptance made Albany, Georgia the 14th League in the south region, and the 199th member of the Association of Junior Leagues International Inc. (AJLI).

Today, the Junior League of Albany are volunteers, physicians, lawyers, therapists, teachers, homemakers, engineers, nurses; young, not so young, married, single, moms, and so much more. They are a group of intelligent women committed to helping their community.
