Shop Notes:

A great cookbook from the Junior League of Wilmington, NC.  The recipes include odes to many classic French dishes, a very serviceable Beverage chapter (poolside Bourbon Slush, anyone?), and so many wonderful coastal Southern recipes.  This is their first cookbook.  Their second, From Seaboard to Sideboard, was published in 2011.

About the Author:

On March 6, 1934, a group of Wilmington women interested in welfare work formed an organization they called The Charity League. The purpose of this organization was to help the social welfare of the county. The Charity League became The Social Service League in 1935. On September 30, 1952, the Junior League of Wilmington, NC was inducted into the Association of Junior Leagues International.

Currently, the goal of the Junior League of Wilmington is to empower women to enrich and improve their community through their leadership as trained volunteers. By providing valuable leadership training, we are giving local women the tools to get involved, put their talents to work, and positively impact Southeastern North Carolina.  Their current organizational focus is decreasing the rate of human trafficking in Southeasten North Carolina through a multi-pronged approach.
