An excellent community cookbook on West Virginia and Appalachian cuisine. What strikes me about this cookbook is the intersection of recipes that one might consider more "Southern" and those that would be more "Midwestern", signaling a mingling of German, Italian, English, and Scottish immigrants with Southern mountain ingredients and flavors.
Many of the recipes are modern, but some I know are throwbacks to the mid-1900s.
