Possibly anticipating the post-World War II baby boom that was about to arrive, Irma Rombauer (The Joy of Cooking, 1931 and subsequent editions) expanded her cookbook marketing prowess to the childrens' segment.  The recipes in this book aren't just for sugar-laden, sweet treats.  The recipes suggest that the author would expect that the child would learn enough useful facts to be able to step up to more advanced cookbooks.  At the very least, they would be able to survive in their own kitchen.

About the Author:

In 1931, a St. Louis widow named Irma von Starkloff Rombauer took her life savings and self-published a book called The Joy of Cooking. Her daughter, Marion, tested recipes and made the illustrations, and they sold their mother-daughter project from Irma's apartment.

Condition: Good, dust cover is worn (appropriate for its age), pages may have some light foxing.  An excellent cookbook for its age!
